SOLO EYEWEAR IS COMMITED TO:
In addition, we repurpose packing materials and defective sunglasses for parts as well as actively recycle.
80% of the world’s blindness is preventable.
By donating 10% of profits, SOLO Eyewear has restored vision for 13,000+ people in need through the funding of eye exams, eyeglasses and cataract surgeries.
By restoring a person’s vision, he or she is able to live a fuller, more productive life. This growth in productivity typically yields an increase of ~$300 USD in annual income. In underdeveloped countries where individuals are living off $1-$2 a day, a $300 increase in annual income is substantial.
Through partnerships with Aravind Eye Care System and Restoring Vision, SOLO’s sight restoring efforts have reached 32 countries to date.
Sunglasses: We work exclusively with manufacturers who have undergone and passed a comprehensive audit conducted by an American based auditing company. The audit reviews the manufacturer’s worker protection and health management, maintenance issue management, fire and emergency management and chemical management.
Accessories: We source our sunglass cases and cords from a group of female arti- sans in Panajachel, Guatemala. By sourcing our accessory products from these arti- sans, we are able to help lift them and their families out of poverty by paying them fair wages and exposing their products to global markets.
